Portable Storage

If you're tired of storing your boat uncovered or miles away at a public storage facility, here's something for you to get puffed up about. The BoatCapsule is a new product that allows you to keep your boat stored under wraps no matter where you keep it.

BoatCapsule's 13-ounce polyester material is lightweight, tear- and abrasion-resistant, washable and waterproof. Its nylon zipper and seams are “welded” onto the material and are, in fact, stronger than the fabric itself.

Here's how it works: Back your trailer on top of BoatCapsule's floor section. Toss the polyester roof over the top of the boat and zip it up. Attach the specially built fan motor and plug it in. The fan will pump up the capsule. When it's full of air, the exhaust valve will “bleed” air out the other end, creating a constant airflow over the boat. Mildew will not accumulate and, because the air is filtered, dirt and dust never enter the capsule. The fan motor blows enough air to support 12 inches of snow and withstand winds up to 50 mph. The cost of electrical power for BoatCapsule runs about $5 a month.

Available in five colors and completely portable, BoatCapsule starts at $899 for the 19-foot model and $1,099 for the 24-footer. Larger sizes are available by custom order.
