WSM: Who should buy this boat?

Ski Supreme: The watersports enthusiast who puts performance, safety, quality and value at the top of their list. The buyer of this boat is looking for high-tech items like the instrumentation system of Borg Warner?s MMDC with five-inch servo driven gauges and the Supreme Information System. The driver is looking for comfort and ease of dash readability and drive-ability. The family is looking for comfort and conveniences such as an abundance of storage, pull-out cleats, a soft ride to head across the lake and a Sony CD stereo that can be adjusted by both passenger and driver.



Does this boat utilize any special construction techniques?

We are using the XL Panels for the core of the fiberglass floors and fiberglass stringers. We were using all fiberglass until 1993, but starting in 1994 we were able to receive a Lifetime warranty on the XL Panel and it makes the boat noticeably more solid.



How does this boat differ from last year?s V210?

This is an all-new boat. It?s a foot and a half longer ? all in the seating area. It has a removable swim platform instead of a built in platform. Also, there is a new ergonomically designed drivers cockpit with the Supreme Information System. The V220 has a 49-gallon fuel tank that can be filled from either side of the boat. The open bow seating area is deeper, making it more family friendly. Being a larger boat there is more boat in the water, which provides a smoother ride as well as a better wake. The glove box has been enhanced for more versatility. It now has compartments and is made of soft touch vinyl for no rattles and a plush feel.

Slalom

If you want a boat that will complement your wakeboarding sessions with open-water recreational slalom, then the V220 will do you right. The wakes are fairly hard, so you?ll want to cruise the lake on your shaped ride and take it easy. The throttle response and its ability to maintain speed were favorable for a V-drive.



Wakeboard

Armed with its high, solid tower, the V220 LS is a capable wakeboarding boat. The wake has a good shape and solid peak with an ideal lip for spinning moves. The transition is good and smooth to the top. Unweighted, it?s well suited for beginners and intermediates because the wake has such good form but not too much size. When weighted with two sacs in back and one in front, the wake gets significantly bigger and near world class.



Chill Factor

There?s a ton of room to stretch out in this boat ? it seems really long. It has a clean, comfortable interior, with good angles on the seats. The all-black dash features big, easy to read gauges, and the standard multi-gauge is a great feature.



Summary

This is a new model that can do it all. It?s a good-handling boat that leans more toward the wakeboarding side of performance but can certainly step out for a recreational slalom set. Inside the cockpit, it?s impressively spacious and you?ll find it hard to believe you are in a 21-foot boat. Ski Supreme designed the V220 LS to have more length than boats with 90-inch beams normally carry. The interior layout and comfort are perfect for all-day sessions with your crew, and gear junkies will reap the benefits of the exceptional storage capacity. We were impressed with the solid ride and easy handling the boat has for a V-drive. Overall it is a sleek, roomy, easy-to-tow boat that is good in rough water.
