Tigi's new 20-foot, 90-inch-wide direct-drive inboard, the 20i, was designed to appeal to the quality-conscious first-time ski-boat buyers, as well as to boat owners who prefer smaller tow boats for reasons including ease of towing, operation and storage. And to sweeten the pot, Tigi builds this new “entry level” boat to the same high standards as its top-of-the line models but offers it for around $25,000 with an EFI engine.
Like all Tigi models, this new inboard provides all-event water-sports performance but also provides the room and comfort needed to enjoy a day on the water. The interior layout provides passengers with more leg room and walkway space than is typical of a 20-foot inboard, while the deep bow well and wide walk-through dash will accommodate adults – yet there's still enough width in the observer's seat for two passengers.
The back seat is raised for cruising comfort, but the center section removes to allow skiers easy access to the platform. Storage includes a rear trunk and a dashboard locker large enough to hold skis.
Proprietary Tigi systems such as TAPS are available on the 20i, which means drivers can adjust the boat not only for cruising comfort, but also for every type of water-sport. As one might expect, this boat is kind to slalom skiers and great for training young skiers.
But thanks to available features such as TAPS, a four-blade prop and a custom-fit towing tower, the 20i can also meet the needs of the wakeboard generation. Owners who want to take it up a notch can max out their boat with a depth gauge, wood-grain package, windscreen, custom color scheme, shower, cockpit heater, and CD systems that include the 100-watt Tower of Power.
Whether you order this new boat stripped for skiing action or tricked for cruising comfort and riding performance, you will be buying the same Tigi quality that has taken this company from an unknown upstart to an established, innovative force in the inboard market.
