Based on the popular Sunsetter LXI, Malibu says the Wakesetter LXI combines power, comfort and maneuverability to complete an exciting wakeboard package for families and aspiring athletes.
The Wakesetter LXI comes standard with a 500-pound automatic center ballast, Wedge and choice of breakdown towers from ECI or Titan. The huge 18-cubic-foot locking trunk provides unparalleled storage and makes for a comfortable sun deck. The driver sits in a swiveling captain’s chair with air lumbar support, has a custom throttle and steering wheel, big five-inch servo gauges and even a wind block for the walk-through. Although this boat is only 22 feet long, there is plenty of passenger room — especially in the big oversized bow. The optional jump seats that fit on each side of the motor box create even more seating.
Few boats match the versatility of the Wakesetter LXI. It’s a boat where the Wedge really shines. By simply dropping the Wedge, the wakes go from near world-class slalom to intermediate wakeboarding wakes. Then, by flipping the MLS ballast switch, you can pump the wakes up to satisfy the solid advanced rider. There’s a huge locking trunk in the rear that could take more ballast and build the wakes up for any rider. Although the look of this boat is pure wakeboarding, the Wakesetter LXI can handle everything thrown at it.
UPSIDE
Don’t let the tower and wakeboard package fool you. This boat can transition from tournament-level slalom to intermediate-level riding abilities with the quick flip of a switch and the release of the wedge.
The lumbar support in the driver’s seat provides valuable comfort.

A convertible playpen in the open bow is plush and comfortable.
There is a second stereo control conveniently located on the transom near the swim platform.
The grab rail availability and placement are superb throughout cockpit. The chill factor is definitely huge with a strong party boat appeal.
The cooler in the back is huge and provides easy access.
