Malibu calls this a new breed of boat that fuses power, performance and handling with a unique layout for a mid-engine boat. The Wakesetter XTI is targeted at families looking for greater performance standards without compromising space, wakeboarding attitude and recreational appeal of larger V-drives.
They designed the XTI to seat 13 comfortably but still have the power and handling to be a cross-training boat. The interior is designed for optimum capacity, however, the hull is based on Malibu’s SV23 Diamond hull for maximum performance.
The interesting seating configuration on the XTI virtually produces a new category of boat. No longer is the bulky center-mounted motor box an obstacle. In fact, the XTI incorporates it into a center-mounted sundeck strategically placed in the thick of the action. Furthermore, the rear pit allows the feeling and comfort of a V-drive seating layout. This setup provides countless storage spaces, including a new one behind the driver’s seat, plus three coolers throughout the boat.
By combining mid-engine performance, the SV23 Diamond hull and Malibu’s Instantaneous Response System (IRT) has incredible handling and water-sports versatility. With the center and dual rear MLS ballast and a wedge, you can quickly design a wake for almost any rider’s needs without ruling out a good slalom set. But, we will admit this boat is best for riders wanting a high-performance boat capable of partying.
