Check out the water-sports scene on any lake these days and you’ll see a combination of everything. Skiing, riding, barefooting, tubing, family boating – you name it – people want versatility in their fun and their boats. And that’s why MasterCraft designed the 209. It’s the perfect fit for the family that wants to do it all.
The key to this boat’s versatility is that MasterCraft has sculpted the 209 with a roomy 96-inch beam onto the running surface of a smaller tournament boat. That means you get precise handling, great tow performance and room for 12. With the 209 you get a great boat with a huge open bow, an ergonomically designed driver’s area with recessed footwell, MasterView bolster seating, a large rear bench seat that converts to a spacious sun deck, a center-gull-wing opening trunk accessible from both inside the boat and on the platform, and a built-in cooler. We like this boat for slalom performance both inside and outside the course. We also noticed that this wider hull stays on top of the water at slower speeds to provide soft wakes for recreational skiing.
For wakeboarding, you can put one full sac in the trunk and another under the sun deck. The wakes are beautifully shaped and with the boat loaded it will more than satisfy intermediate-level riding abilities. With its size, comfort, and performance, we think it’s a boat that will meet the expectations of even the toughest critics.

UPSIDE
A great family boat with multi-sport versatility that has respectable and reliable performance for skiing and riding.
Combining ample room for family and friends without sacrificing true inboard handling and maneuverability.
Plush padding throughout the interior of the boat gives passengers a soft and smooth ride even in rough water.
Swivel pylon head cuts down on the wear and tear of the towline.
An oversized swim platform is convenient for helping the kids get into their equipment.
The rear seat easily converts into a sun deck for fun in the sun.
Unique rear armrests are an added bonus.

DOWNSIDE
The forward ski locker could use some extra padding for protecting equipment.
