           Our

it’s time for a “long lunch” on the lake.

           The
best thing about the Cal-Air is its instant gratification.
There’s no need to organize your entire wakeboarding posse
and round up a load of fat sacks and pumps. Just call a few
friends, grab your boards, fire up the boat, and you’ll be
riding lickety-split. The Cal-Air’s patented PureVert Wake
System, integrated into the liner, can very quietly add 700 pounds
of water ballast in just 45 seconds. Flip a switch, and gravity
takes over to fill up the below-the-waterline ballast. That ease
and speed are unmatched.

           The
wakes work well for riders who want to have fun rather than win
championships. The ramp is clean with a fairly steep lip. If you
feel like switching gears to skiing, the Cal-Air is lightning fast
in emptying the ballast. It only takes about 15 seconds and then
you’re ready to rip over softer wakes.

           Keeping
the ballast water cells under the floor frees up much storage
space. As if that weren’t enough, Calabria has put the gas
tank in the forward part of the boat, resulting in an 18-cubic-foot
trunk that’s uncommonly huge for a boat this size. Other
innovations run from the low bow to the removable jump seats to the
