           We’ve
had apartments smaller than the Cal-Air Pro-V. On first look, what
really stands out is the wide-open living room in the middle of
this 23-foot-6-inch-long, 102-inch-wide wakeboarding boat. The
sectional sofa (aka wraparound seating) and armchair (aka
driver’s seat) make for cushy accommodations. Build a roof
overhead, and you’ll never live on dry land again.

           Of
course, there’s no TV, so you’ll have to create your
own entertainment. While the Pro-V offers recreational slalom
wakes, it really excels for wakeboarding. We love how fast and
easily the patented PureVert Wake System, built into the liner,
loads on 700 pounds of water ballast in just 45 seconds with the
flip of a switch. The hull is designed to balance that weight with
the V-drive format for a running attitude that helps generate rampy
transitions, clean peaks and long landing zones. Just make sure you
keep an eye on maintaining the speed when the boat is fully
weighted, unless you’re dialed with Perfect Pass. The Pro-V
even has great wakes for surfing if you really want to mix it
up.

           Other
amenities add to the party. Our test boat was tricked out with a
mack daddy Clarion stereo that blasted festive tunes. The sun deck
is extraordinarily broad, the swim platform is about as big as it
gets, and the bow seating is comfortable and easy to get to. The 13
drink holders and 73 cubic feet of storage space ensure
you’ll have as many beverages and party supplies as
you’ll need for a full day. Just remember to invite us.

The Lowdown:

•Under-the-floor ballast system fills and empties in a
flash — 45 seconds for water to go in, 15 seconds for it to
come out.

•Wonderfully wide beam creates space for a living
room-style wraparound lounge, all for better passenger capacity and
comfort.

•Wakeboarding wakes are really top-notch, with great
characteristics for advanced riders.

•When fully weighted, the boat becomes ideal for surfing
behind.

•Mirror is well placed on the tower to maximize
driver’s rear visibility.

•Clarion CD stereo rocks the house.
