This is the only time when multiple
avalanches are a good thing — Centurion Avalanches, that is.
With this new Avalanche C4, the company offers a new choice: Do you
want everything the Avalanche has to offer, as long as you can
ditch the walk-through transom?

           After
all, Centurion knows that some wakeboarders and their families
prefer the advantages of an uninterrupted stern, from an ultrawide
sun deck and extra storage space to even ballast balance in the
rear. That’s what they get in the C4, which in all other ways
is a perfect copy of the original Avalanche.

           The
result is performance that’s equally impressive. The C4 cuts
the same great wakes because of the same great V-bottom hull design
— it sinks deep in the water thanks to reduced chines. The
wakes themselves are steep, with good transitions, fine landing
zones and clean, sharp, peaky double-ups. Dry off and hop into the
driver’s seat to check out solid power through those
double-ups as the boat maintains the needed speed. Both
incarnations of the Avalanche are American Wakeboard Association
(AWA) approved and World Wakeboard Association (WWA) approved.
We’ll be watching this year as core boarders flock to the C4
while recreational riders increase their skills behind this truly
intense wakeboard boat.

The interior lends itself to intense
partying, especially since the full transom allows for wraparound
seating in the main passenger area. Two extra people/partyers can
fit on the boat with that arrangement, and the huge sun deck is
ready for complete solar recharging between rides.

We tested a C4 with the Brett Eisenhauer
package, which included a brushed aluminum tower, dual rear
ballast, custom four-speaker stereo with CD changer, Kicker amp and
subwoofer, two-board racks, second battery isolator, (pause for a
breath, then continue …) reverse gelcoat, Crayola gelcoat
graphics, “Brett Eisenhauer” decal, “BE”
decal and matching “BE” wakeboard.

All the options make for a choice boat.

The Lowdown:

  • Instead of the original Avalanche’s signature walk-through
transom, the C4 closes it up and adds wraparound seating and a
large rear sun deck — all apt to draw a crowd.

  • Wakes have a steep lip with good transition and clean, sharp,
    peaky double-ups.

  • Tons of room with the wide beam, deep freeboard and storage
    galore.

  • Eisenhauer package adds a long string of options, including a
custom sound system, dual rear ballast, brushed aluminum tower,
    Crayola gelcoat graphics and more.

  • World Wakeboard Association approved.
