Things have changed since last year for
the Cyclone, a smaller version of Centurion’s Avalanche
— changed for the better. Last year’s forward-facing
bow seat has given way to the better-received wraparound seating.
Also, popular demand necessitated changing the walk-over to a
walk-through, with an insulated cooler in the floor.
Most significantly, though, the
C4’s V-bottom hull has been deepened, allowing for larger
wakes, shooting riders up high off the fairly abrupt lips. Although
the landing zone could have been larger, intermediate to advanced
boarders will thrill with this bad boy. Tight, aggressive turns
tilt the boat somewhat off-plane — a tradeoff for a hull that
slices through adverse conditions.
The split rear hatch gives quick, easy
access to the engine or to the deep storage. The ballast option
fills some of the storage, but still leaves ample space. New,
higher-grade upholstery and 40-ounce, snap-out carpeting, together
with wraparound seating (all the way to the driver’s seat),
brighter courtesy lights and multitudinous cup holders make for
just-right interior appointments.
The standard Pro Flite tower can be
optioned with kickin’ speakers and lights. Connect those
speakers to the optional 10-disc CD changer and Sony stereo (and
the Kicker subwoofer with built-in amp) for raucous riding.
The Cyclone C4 comes with a standard
center ballast and optional rear. A sexy, retooled dash and gauge
package includes light-up switches for bilge pump, horn and
optional Pilot One gauges. We could go on about the storage, sick
graphics, Bennett Trim Tab and more, but space doesn’t allow.
Check it out yourself.
The Lowdown:
-
Wraparound seating and a new walk-through with an in-the-floor
cooler are sure to please the crowds. -
Centurion’s trademark jumbo glove box allows heaps of
personal storage. -
Tons of storage under all the seats, enough for loads of
equipment. -
New deepened V-hull for larger wakes and better rough-water
navigation — perfect for serious boarders. Be prepared for
those sudden turns, though — lots of tilt. -
Optional Bennett Trim Tab adjustable plate for customizing the
wake the way you like it.
