           When
shopping for a boat, parents often have to look for a model roomy
enough to fit all the kids, sort of like an aquatic minivan. But
wouldn’t it be nice if the boat didn’t look and handle
like a minivan?

Malibu thinks so, which is why they designed the Sunscape 21
LSV. Built on the same SV23 Diamond hull as the world-record
Response, its V-drive interior has room for 10 while its nimble
performance feels like you’re driving a sporty inboard.
Buffed out with the optional Corvette LS1 engine (which lets you
tell all your minivan-owning friends that you drive a Corvette), it
burned up the water in our acceleration test, boasting a top speed
of 49 mph and cruising from 0-36 mph in 5.4 seconds.

           Complementing
that peppy speed is a sleek appearance. A redesigned deck carried
over from last year highlights the spiffy contours of the boat,
accentuated with a stainless-steel rub rail. The luxury kudos
continue throughout the interior, which features full wraparound
seating for your little posse, a large 60-quart ice chest and
storage options that will house everyone’s equipment. To
polish off the interior package, Malibu features new chrome billet
oval emblems sprinkled throughout.

           From
the end of the tow line, the wakes behind the Sunscape 21 LSV are
as good as we’ve seen behind a V-drive for both skiing and
wakeboarding. Overall, it’s 21 feet of do-it-all family fun
