In
its second year of production, the X-7 continues to hone its
ability as a boat that’s the pull of all trades. Certified in
five competitive water-ski events, the X-7 is as comfortable
pulling a shortline skier through the slalom course as it is a
barefooter through a high-scoring trick run. With the 800-pound
Indmar Predator engine, solid tower design and rear ballast system,
you’ll also have nicely shaped wakeboarding wakes to please
the intermediate-level rider.
We
found the X-7 to have a spacious layout even in a sub-20-foot
length. A roomy open bow, a plethora of equipment storage for an
inboard, a rear seat that converts to a three-person sun deck, all
take this world-class ski hull to a new level — it’s
the same hull as MasterCraft’s renowned 2002 Tournament Team
hull. The overall passenger and performance versatility makes the
X-7 one of the top picks for the hard-core skier who wants to make
a bold statement.
The Lowdown:
•Five-event certified thanks to soft wakes for
tournament-level skiing.
•Tower and rear ballast system transform it into a
wakeboarding boat for intermediate-level wakes.
•Observer’s seating has hinged, removable backing to
allow access to the open bow.
•Contoured seating, stainless-steel windshield stanchions
and glove-box latch, lockable observer seat, a splined shaft and
prop, and special-edition X-7 clamping board racks.
