           Yes,
big-boat lovers, Ski Supreme has heard you. The recent trend in the
industry has been toward offering an extra-beefy model to top off
the lineup, and Ski Supreme joins that fray in 2003 with the
V230.

           What
sets this boat apart, though, is its exemplary handling and
performance. We didn’t expect a 23-footer with a 100-inch
beam to track so well and maintain speed so easily. Choppy water
and double-ups didn’t faze it. With the high freeboard
cocooning the interior, passengers won’t be fazed either.

           When
we ran the V230 through its wakeboarding paces, we really needed to
add a lot of weight to pump up massive wakes. Once we did, we loved
the ride, thanks to a clean, long ramp with great landing zones and
fly-me-to-the-moon double-ups. Unloaded, it spools out recreational
slalom wakes for open-water sets.

           It
has to be fun outfitting a beamy boat like this with an
overwhelmingly spacious cockpit, wide walk-through to the bow,
massive and deep front storage compartment, and even a broad
passageway cut through the transom. Grab rails were available only
in the open bow. We found it easy to stretch out and relax in the
V230’s plush seats — with extra room because of its
size.

           We
were impressed with little touches throughout. The driver’s
seat is sweet with a perfectly contoured shape. The Faria gauges
are dependable and easy to read. Add the stereo upgrade, W.E.T.
ballast system, tower and fetching graphics, and we think this V230
will go over big.

“bigger is better.”
