MasterCraft X-30
Recommendation: Hard-core Wakeboard

When you're ready to get your feet wet with big wakes in big water, MasterCraft suggests the X-30. The X-30 is actually the luxury-line MariStar 230 packaged with wakeboarding amenities and drenched with attitude. The aluminum Zero Flex Flyer tower not only elevates riders, it provides a stable framework for up to four new clampable board racks and the optional bullet-shaped speaker cans and fog lights. The trademark X Series hull graphics, the easy-to-use, fast-filling triple KGB ballast system, and the five-speaker Clarion AM/FM CD stereo also trick this boat out for riders.
While we tested the X-30 with a 385-horsepower engine, it can handle up to a 450-horsepower one. Picture the deep-V hull knifing through chop and rollers in the blink of an eye. That would truly pump up this machine to its maximum potential, while helping you do the same.
Wakeboarding
There's no lake too big for the X-30. It's a deep and spacious boat that can handle plenty of extra ballast. The wake is pro-level size with smooth ramps and gradual transition that provides really good lift off the top. Load it up with your favorite crew and crank on the KGB ballast system and you'll be amazed at the swells it produces. With a maximum seating capacity of 12 people, not only will you have plenty of human ballast to dial up the wakes, but everyone will find a fun challenge. What's great about this ride is that it not only exceeds the needs of the hard-core rider, but it also caters to the big family that enjoys big-lake boating. From beginning riders to wannabe pros, MasterCraft has got you covered.
Lowdown
-The X-30 is the second longest boat in the X Series, behind the new X-80.
-A luxury feel, literally, comes from the 34-ounce vinyl and 40-ounce carpet.
-The standard 310-horsepower engine will get you going, but this big boat deserves a big power upgrade.
-The rear storage compartments underneath the sun deck offer lots of space for ballast, gear or anything else you need to stow.
-New for 2004 are edgy hull graphics, a black driver's console, clamping board racks and an improved tachometer LCD display.
