Moomba Outback LSV
Recommendation: Family

This Outback LSV combines everything people want from the Outback LS with everything they like in a V-drive. With the back-end weight of the engine and a draft that runs a little deeper, 24 inches, the wake level is increased for riders, though the hull keeps conditions softer for skiers at skiing speeds and retains much of the superior handling of an inboard. The V-drive configuration also opens up the interior for popular wraparound seating, while the rear bench quickly converts to rear-facing stadium seating to watch the wakeboarding action.
In addition to those highlights, the Outback LSV is simply sensible. The 100 percent hand-laid fiberglass hull with unibody engineering has the extra support and sound-dampening of foam-filled double sidewall construction. You can find room for skis and boards in the convenient front in-floor locker under the walk-through to the bow, or in the compartments alongside the engine under the three-piece sun deck. Finished off with new upholstery designs and charcoal accents and an improved driver's console with riser seat, charcoal dash, new switch panel and more, the Outback LSV is a terrific deal for a V-drive boat.
Slalom
This nimble V-drive produces a legitimate crossover wake for the skiing and boarding family if the variables are right. For slalom, get the optional hydraulic wake plate to customize the size and density to your liking.
Wakeboarding
The Outback LSV pumped out big wakes when weighted down, and the characteristics were crisp and clean with no rollover. The moderately spacious wraparound seating arrangement allows room for the optional Bertha ballast system while still saving space for equipment storage.
