Calabria Boats 2005 Cal-Air Pro V

OVERVIEW Even core riders crave a luxury ride, and Calabria delivers with the Pro V. Stylish appointments such as 5-inch Borg-Warner multifunction gauges, and Teleflex competition throttle control complement roomy, full-wrap seating. This boat was a standout for our testers, with its striking look on the water and its family-friendly features. And if you're into customizing your ride, Calabria will do what it takes to accommodate your needs.
But these pampering bells and whistles are just icing on a sweet-performing cake. For a
V-drive with a 102-inch width, the Pro V handles exceptionally well. The forward configuration of the gas tank and the balanced weight distribution of Calabria's patented PureVert ballast system help the boat maintain a level, smooth-handling silhouette on the water, while its broad shoulders naturally translate into ample chill space for your crew of 15.

WAKEBOARDING
With its wide beam, the Cal Air Pro V not only produces large wakes and gives a stable pull, but it can accommodate your whole posse and their gear. Our testers were pleased with these monster wakes that gave them a superb transition, lip and landing zone. The long ramps will give intermediate riders as much chance to rip it as the pros. With the revolutionary PureVert ballast system, impatient riders can get their desired level of weighting — up to 700 pounds — before they can count to 50. A new stainless-steel Calabria tower is sturdy and stylish, sporting a new swept-back look this year. We recommend the upgraded MerCruiser MX 6.2 Black Scorpion if you're going to be weighting the boat for pro-level wakes.

LOWDOWN
• These wakeboarding wakes are world-class.

• The main seating area is plush and could host a small cocktail party — complete with servers.

• Official tow boat of the Pro Hydrofoil Tour.

• Convenient benefits like stereo controls on the steering wheel distinguish Calabria as a custom boat builder.

• With three lockable sun pads, the rear sun deck is super-spacious.
