Sport Nautique SV-211 Limited
OVERVIEW
In its pursuit to create a truly versatile water-sports boat, Correct Craft evolved boat design a step further. The result is the new Sport Nautique SV-211, which is entering its first full model year in 2005. Most notable is the driver-controlled stainless-steel plate at the stern, dubbed the Hydro-Gate, which can adjust the boat's running angle on the fly. To amplify wakes for wakeboarding and quell them for water skiing, it works in concert with the tunnel and strakes of the hull, which itself is inspired by the TSC2 hull of the Ski Nautiques. The SV-211 also sports a walk-through transom with easy step-down access to the swim platform. Without the traditional rear bench, there's wide-open space between the portside seating, the driver's console and the starboard-side seat. The carpet snaps off the nonskid composite surface for cleaning that's a breeze. Many of these features are reminiscent of what you may see elsewhere, but no other manufacturer has put them together quite like this.
SKIING
The Hydro-Gate makes crossover sets a reality. With the plate positioned in the slalom mode, the Sport SV-211 is one of the best V-drive ski boats available. From 15 off all the way to 32 off, wakes were fairly soft, and the boat's 20-foot-9 length and 93-inch beam keep it nimble with a quick hole shot. It's even worthy of tournaments, thanks to USA Water Ski-approved Class C certification for slalom, trick and jump.
WAKEBOARDING
With the boat at speed, the driver can adjust the lever at the helm to set the Hydro-Gate at one of three settings designed for wakeboarding. That puts the boat lower in the water and heightens the level of the wakes for the riders' ability, whether beginners or intermediates. The Team package offers a tower and ballast for more serious riding.
