OVERVIEW
If the only thing holding you back from buying a V-drive is the price, allow us to present the Mobius LSV. Moomba aims for sticker prices that are thousands less than on similar boats, though the company strives to provide the same benefits. That means this LSV has the advanced wakeboarding performance and exceptional interior space that have made V-drive boats so popular.
Yet because the LSV — at 20 feet 8 inches long and 95 inches wide — isn't as oversized as other models, it also shares advantages with direct-drives. The zippy hole shot is barely a few tenths of a second longer than the Mobius LS's, and the turning radius is still tight. It also features Moomba's all hand-laid fiberglass and double sidewall construction. Just one Saturday riding behind this LSV with its standard tower and one-bag ballast system, and you'll know the true worth of this great wakeboarding V-drive.
WAKEBOARDING
In a wakeboarding world where V-drive boats grow bigger every year, this smaller model still manages to generate impressive wakes, while being especially nimble when cornering into double-ups. The wakes are a touch steep but have a good transition, and are topped off with a launch-friendly lip. We started with the 600-pound one-bag factory ballast, then added more sacks throughout the boat to sink it further. That's why the three-bag ballast upgrade would be the best option for serious riders. While you're at it, throw on the hydraulic wake plate and Perfect Pass Wakeboard Pro. And a stereo. And some of those chrome board racks?
