OVERVIEW
Sometimes being sold “as is” is a very good thing. Such is the case with the V210, a top-selling model that Sanger is positioning as a price-point V-drive for 2005. The factory will outfit it only one way to keep it affordably in the $35,000 range. Of course, dealers can take further liberties to trick it out, but for the most part, what you see is what you get.
As a serious wakeboarding model, the V210 comes with a tower, front ballast and special graphics. Even on a 90-inch beam, Sanger has carved out enough room for an open bow and a wraparound lounge. And every storage compartment has a hinged lid with gas shocks for easy opening. What you don't see is the proven wood and hand-laid fiberglass construction for structural integrity, and the V-bottom with 30-degree entry to cut through rough water. No smoke and mirrors, no flashy bling — the V210 is simply a solid wakeboarding boat.
WAKEBOARDING
While many wakeboarding boats keep getting bigger and bigger, the V210 has held true to its 90-inch width. That's what makes the wake performance all the more surprising. It measures up to the big boys as it rides low in the water for deep swells when weighted down. Advanced riders will get a thrill from the fast, smooth transitions building to exceptional pop off the peak. Yet going wake-to-wake isn't out of the question for less experienced riders. The boat's efficient size also means it's one of the best-handling V-drives on the market. Even lots of ballast doesn't upset the speed-holding or the tight turning, which may have you doing a double take thinking that this must be a direct-drive.
LOWDOWN
• Sanger will build every V210 with the same features for 2005 to price it as an entry-level boat.
• Wakeboarding V-drives rarely handle and track this well.
• For a 90-inch-wide boat, the wakes are amazingly large and expertly sculpted.
• Gas shocks in every storage compartment are a terrific feature.
