OVERVIEW
The Sunsport 22V is Supra's response to boat buyers looking for a comfy runabout interior without the clunky I/O handling. Load up your skis, wakeboards, tubes, hydrofoils, whatever you want to tow, and trailer it to the lake for a big weekend.
Cruise in high-class style in the wraparound lounge or the open bow, which comes as a playpen or a walk-through. It's equipped with everything you need, from the cooler under the observer's seat to the convertible rear bench to the three-piece sun pad, which is easy to lift thanks to gas-assist shocks. Supra even thought of the little things like recessed storage lighting and, new for 2005, stainless-steel cup holders.
The driver's console practically sparkles with full instrumentation in the blackwood dash, and accessory controls are at your fingertips next to the throttle. The smooth, stable ride is just as beautiful as the boat itself.
SKIING
The hull has slight lift in the rear to make the feel of the boat closer to that of a direct drive, but this is still a V-drive boat. That means you won't be setting any course records, but the wakes are fine for recreational skiing with the right adjustment of the hydraulic wake plate.
WAKEBOARDING
Out of the box, the 22V has a surprisingly good amount of pop in its wakes. The riders in the family will love it, especially when the boat powers through double-ups. But for those more serious about their wakeboarding, Supra does offer an optional tower and a one- or three-bag ballast system to take the riding to near-pro level.
LOWDOWN
