Gekko GTR 22

Overview
There's a lot to love about the 2006 edition of the GTR 22. Gekko has maintained the features our testers dig the most — small wakes, excellent tracking, minimal spray — and added a few new traits. Gekko was the exclusive tow boat for the 2005 European barefoot championships, and this USA Water Ski record-approved hull makes the boat more than just a shortline slalom machine. With new in-gel graphic designs, upgraded upholstery and more stainless-steel and polished chrome options, this boat is looking hotter than ever.

Wakes
As in previous years, the wakes behind the GTR 22 were extremely soft and small, with only a little firmness at 22 off. At speeds above 34 mph, the wakes were incredibly flat and spray was all but nonexistent.

Handling
The GTR 22 expertly maneuvers through the course with excellent tracking and responsiveness to match — the boat tracks like it's on a rail. The efficient hull design combined with the upgraded PCM ZR6 engine produced incredible acceleration and top-end numbers.

Comfort
From upgraded upholstery to stainless-steel accents, the GTR 22 has comfort and style in mind. We were particularly impressed by the storage space under the observer's seat, and a comfortable driver's seat that features a high seat back for optimal support.
