Boat Review
Look at the size of this MasterCraft X-80! The sheer vastness of MasterCraft’s largest-ever wakeboard boat continues to astound us. Even better, it’s absolutely packed with cool features: enclosed head, mini-bar with freshwater sink, three coolers, 17 cup holders, convertible reclining lounger, innovative sun pad, extendable bow ladder, monstrous swim platform and plenty more. And twin engines give it a hole shot that rivals that of a tournament ski boat.
Wakes
As we expected, the wakes come out big and steep behind the huge deep-V hull. That creates some unique challenges, especially if you’re trying to go wake to wake. Still, the X-80 makes for plenty of water-sports excitement.
Handling
With twin Indmar 350-horsepower engines, this inboard mammoth is fun to drive. The X-80 flows over choppy big-lake conditions, and with an aggressive rider in tow the boat doesn’t budge, holding its course like no other.
Comfort
This boat was built for comfort. It’s not just a floating living room, it’s a floating game room, sunroom and bathroom. These pictures don’t do it justice. You have to be sitting in it to appreciate the enormousness.
