Boat Review
One test ride in or behind the MB Sports 190 Plus and you’ll quickly discover that this boat is all about high performance. Whether our testers were burying the throttle to record an amazing 0-36 mph acceleration time of 5.3 seconds or ripping through its buttery-soft wakes, they were all smiles. Although it’s the lone hard-core direct-drive ski boat in the MB lineup, it still has a lot in common with its V-drive siblings, including comfortable seating, roomy storage compartments and touches of luxury throughout the interior.
Wakes
Beginners and expert skiers alike will quickly fall in love with the silky soft wakes of the 190 Plus. From 15 off through shortline, skiers can charge aggressively at forgiving wakes that are so small, they’re pretty much nonexistent. We confidently recommend this boat to the family of hard-core skiers.
Handling
One of the few boats tested that was as much fun to drive as it was to ski behind. This nimble 20-footer offers outstanding responsiveness and tracking, and the hull design allows for aggressive sports-car maneuvering.
Comfort
The interior is not only remarkably spacious for its class size, it’s also extremely versatile. A filler cushion lets you switch from open bow to playpen, and a swing-out backrest converts the observer’s seat into a mini couch.
