Session 22 S3 2006

Overview
Session is serious about its commitment to wake sports, and the 22 S3 is an impressive example of how a boat can optimize your time on the water whether you’re wakeboarding, wakeskating or wake surfing. This ride is loaded with standard features that are usually sold as options on other wakeboard boats. You get a tower, Perfect Pass Wakeboard Pro and many other extras that make this wakeboard boat a value purchase for under 40 grand.

Wakes
Our testers rode the 22 with the S3 package, which includes a four-tank ballast system that offers 1,050 pounds of wake-producing weight. With this configuration our testers enjoyed rampy, moderately big wakes with smooth, quick transitions.

Handling
This ride was built with the rigidity to handle the pounding that a wakeboard boat takes, and you can sense this sturdy construction in the solid feel the 22 S3 has on the water. The boat tracks well and holds consistent speed. We also tested the 22 S3 with the optional turbo diesel engine and were impressed with its performance. With its low-end torque, the diesel holds flawlessly consistent speed and won’t bog down no matter how much weight you pile on.

Comfort
Not only is the 22 S3 a core rider’s boat, it’s also extremely family-friendly. It features a walk-through transom with an integrated flip-up reclining sun pad that expands the rear lounging area. Nice touches like the snap-out carpet and contoured seating complete the package.
