BOAT REVIEW
Riding in Svfara’s new V-drive wakeboarding inspiration, the SV2, it’s easy to see why the company believes the wakeboard boat will be its most popular ever. The wakes are well shaped, the ride is smooth and solid, and the styling is nothing short of first class. None of this came as a surprise to our testers, who have enjoyed the SV2′s direct-drive predecessor, the SV696, for years. The SV2 features the same mammoth 23-foot-long, 102-inch-wide hull as the SV696, but trades in the direct-drive setup for the seating configuration and the social aspect of a V-drive. What it doesn’t trade in is Svfara’s signature sense of style, which screams luxury inside and out.
HANDLING
The first thing you’ll notice on a test drive of the SV2 is how solid this boat feels. During our tests, the ride was smooth and vibration-free as the SV2 dominated chop and motored through double-ups. The steering was also responsive, and tracking was good with a rider in tow.
WAKES
The SV2′s wake size was comparable to its direct-drive sibling the SV696, but with its V-drive setup, this ride can handle more weight, so more experienced riders can add some extra ballast to pump these wakes up to an advanced level. The wakes are well shaped and a little steeper than the direct-drive version, so if you like straight-up pop, this may just be the ride for you.
COMFORT
From the sleek Faria gauges and leather-like 34-ounce Perfection vinyl seating to the auto-inspired vacuum-formed gunwales, signs of automotive style are everywhere. Thirty-five cubic feet of storage means you’ll never need to worry about finding a place for you gear. With the addition of a filler cushion, the U-shaped sport seating converts to a mid-boat playpen to complement the spacious playpen in the bow.
