OVERVIEW
With the introduction of two new models for 2007, the Air Nautique 226 Team Edition is no longer the biggest wakeboard and ski boat in Correct Craft’s lineup. But it still has a lot to offer when it comes to size. Wide, contoured benches in the lounge and the open bow provide seating for 12 passengers, and plenty of storage make room for all their gear. The extra-deep freeboard adds another layer of comfort by creating a cavernous cabin that will make everyone feel safe and secure. Families with a proclivity for recreational wakeboarding or riders looking for roomy comfort will appreciate this wakeboard and ski boat.
PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS
As the official towboat of Correct Craft’s wakeboarding events, the Air Nautique 226 Team Edition has been put to the test by quite a few experts. After all, if you’re going to pull a world-class wakeboarding tournament, you’ve got to meet some pretty rigorous standards. Functional interior? Check. The 226 features a versatile walk-through transom that not only saves the upholstery and provides easy access to the platform, but also doesn’t sacrifice too much storage space. Solid ride? Check. Even with a rider in tow and the three-tank Launch System full, the 226 maintains control and only suffers slightly in agility. Loud and clear tunes? Check. Besides being equipped with a killer stereo system, this boat is really quiet at cruising speeds.
And most important — wakes? Check. The swells behind the 226 are fairly large with excellent shape. A firm peak really boots you, and the landing zones are big and mellow, great for big-air moves — you know, the kind you’d see at a world-class wakeboard event.
