MB Sports knows its customers well enough to recognize what they want, and if the F23 Tomcat is any indication of those desires, space and performance top the list. The two-pronged bow design not only opens into a sizeable lounge, it also enhances this V-drive’s running surface for a more reliable performance in rough water. Everything about the Tomcat–from the graphics to the swim step–is new and unique to this model, but MB’s flair for stylish touches remains a constant. The 2,500-pound ballast system and customized tower reflect the wakeboard-oriented personality of all the boats in this line.
PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS
Drawing on his eclectic boat-design experience, Mike Brendel developed the F23 Tomcat with space, performance, style and function in mind. The two-pronged bow, a relic of Brendel’s days on the boat-racing circuit, is the feature that most differentiates the Tomcat from the rest of MB’s line, both in appearance and performance. Combined with the Extended Wake Plane hull, it’s designed to increase speed by trapping air at the front of the boat, as well as improve the running surface for more efficient turns. The result is a boat that is both predictable and agile no matter what the conditions present.
Twin ballast tanks with a total of 2,500 pounds, as well as a keel and rocker pattern designed to maximize wake performance, give advanced riders just what they need to perform at their best. What really stands out about the wake is its ability to give riders of all abilities a nice, controlled pop.
