Tigé 22i 2007

BOAT REVIEW

At 21 feet 8 inches long and 102 inches wide, the 22i is not only the largest direct-drive Tigé has to offer, it’s also the most wakeboard-oriented, as on-board comfort merges with performance-enhancing function. A unique seating design simultaneously maximizes space around the engine box and balances passenger weight specifically for a wakeboard setup, while a two-step transom walk-through saves the plush upholstery on the rear bench and allows easy access to the platform. Standard features like the ConvexV hull with TAPS2 technology and optional accessories like the Tigé collapsible tower give this direct-drive an unmistakable wakeboarding persona. The interior layout is as cool as the performance.

PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS
When the engineers at Tigé designed the 22i, they didn’t just wrap a direct-drive up in a wakeboard boat’s skin. Instead, they worked with the intricacies of a center-mounted engine to play up its advantages and maximize its wakeboarding potential. The result is a unique seating layout, which includes an extra-wide observer’s bench and a seat behind the engine box, designed to balance passengers’ weight for a better wakeboard pull. This attention to weight distribution combines with the ConvexV hull and TAPS2 adjustable wake plate to produce well-shaped wakes with smooth transitions and steep peaks right out of the box, no ballast needed.

The nimble 22i boasts solid handling characteristics, so whether you’re towing a beginner or a pro, this boat won’t pull out of line. Its world-class tracking skills also help it cut through double-ups with no problem.
