BOAT REVIEW
Tigé is all about versatility, and nowhere is that more apparent than in the 24Vé. The largest model in the Tigé line, the 24Vé successfully combines exceptional wakeboarding performance with a roomy, functional layout perfect for families and big groups. The official towboat of the 2005 and 2006 Tigé U.S. Pro-Am Wakeboarding Championships, the 24Vé has become a “must ride” for riders and wake surfers of all levels. Inside, thoughtful design and tremendous interior space please everyone else, including the wide transom activity center and well-placed rear walkway. From the specialized hull to the practical inerior, every component works toward making the 24Vé both a serious riding machine and a fun family cruiser.
PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS
For both serious riders and families into water sports, this model satisfies what they’d want in a 24-footer–a boat that delivers pro-quality wakes, handles confidently even in choppy water and stays straight and true as a rider pulls back and forth on the tower. The patented Tigé ConvexV hull working with the TAPS2 wake plate provides enough crisp wakes for most riders to enjoy without the bother of ballast. That’s because of the ConvexV design, which curves upward under the transom to allow the boat to naturally settle deep into the water. Other boats require hundreds of pounds of extra ballast to do that. With these Tigé innovations, there are no worries about pumps, tanks, bags and weight limitations.
Skiing, tubing, cruising–all of that is very possible too. TAPS2 tailors the wake shape as well as lowers the running attitude for better visibility while cruising. One test drive really shows off this 24Vé’s versatility.
That said, more advanced wakeboarders may want upgraded engine power and ballast for even greater wake amplitude. Because of the ConvexV hull design, however, they’ll find they need less horsepower and far less ballast than they would on other boats.
