The Wakecraft ZR6 is a ready-made wakeboard boat. With a long list of standard features that include 1,200 pounds of ballast, a fiberglass spoiler for big air pulls and PerfectPass speed control, there’s no need to customize it with a series of optional wakeboard-oriented accessories. One look at this 20-foot-6-inch V-drive as it rolls out of the factory and its wakeboard-oriented focus is clear. And because everything, from the stainless-steel cup holders to a tandem-axle trailer with 20-inch chrome wheels, is wrapped up in one complete package, what you see is what you get.
PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS
David Telling, founder of Wakecraft boats, began designing the ZR6 with 37 years of experience tucked securely in his back pocket. So as the boat evolved from a sketch on the drawing board to full-fledged reality, his knowledge of the industry and the performance wakeboard niche in particular played a considerable role. That’s why the deep-V hull is designed not only to build sweet wakeboarding wakes but also to give you power through them. It features two running strakes and deep reversed chines to trap air for bigger wakes, as well as a reverse delta to help flatten the table and reduce the rooster tail.
Fire up the robust PCM 375 hp engine and you’ll quickly find the better water on your lake. Then fill the 1,200-pound ballast system to capacity for respectable wake size that will entertain advancing intermediate-level riders. More experienced riders will want to maximize their session by adding additional ballast and using the adjustable trim tab to really dial in the wake for a fun session.
