BOAT REVIEW
To be honest, we were torn on how to categorize this boat — a slightly smaller version of Calabria's Pro-V model. The skiers on our test team called this Calabria Pro-V2 a great V-drive ski wake and considered it a solid multisport performer. Yet it's so well outfitted for wakeboarding, with the 2.25-inch diameter polished stainless-steel tower standard and the 700-pound fast-filling ballast system that doesn't take up storage space because it's built into the liner. Our test riders won out, barely. Calabria Boats is also proud to have earned NMMA certification for this wakeboard and ski boat. The fit-and-finish really stood out, and we thought the gelcoat had a simple style that really shined. Those are all things everyone could agree on.

Wraparound Lounge
The G-shaped lounge starts with a cool, angled observer's seat and continues with a clean look to the upholstery design.

PureVert Ballast
Rather than pumps, Calabria has engineered this system to use gravity to feed water into tanks along two-thirds of the boat.

TEST ANALYSIS

Wakes
Compared to the Calabria Pro-V, these wakes were a little narrower and softer, making them even more inviting for beginner to advanced wakeboarders. Calabria keeps its ballast system at 700 pounds in the interest of safety, and we found that weighted the boat evenly. Wakes stay soft at higher speeds and longer lines. Overall: A fun ride with sessions that start right away thanks to the fast-filling ballast.

Handling
Bow rise: 15.9-degree angle during typical wakeboard acceleration. Nothing of note to hamper visibility thanks to a low dash. Tracking: For this size V-drive, the tracking was certainly better than expected. The rider only pulled the boat a bit. Turns: At high speeds, there was very little drifting during turns. We found that low-speed maneuvering took a little finessing — especially while docking — to master.
