Malibu 21 vRide 2009

BOAT REVIEW

The “v” in Malibu vRide stands for value. With an MSRP under $45,000, this 21-footer offers buyers a bevy of standard features, including the Illusion X tower, Precision Pro speed control and a subfloor ballast tank system with 400-pound capacity. Plus, it’s built on the original Malibu VLX hull, so riders can be assured of quality wakes. There’s nothing budget about the construction, either. Every vRide is crafted with the same quality materials and rigorous processes as their more expensive cousins.

INSIDE THE BOAT

For a budget-friendly boat, the Malibu 21 vRide’s finishes are high-end, from the stainless-steel accents to the 38-oz. vinyl. In the cockpit, drivers get a hand-wrapped dash and thoughtful ergonomics, and with room for 11 in the wraparound lounge, splitting the gas money will be easy on everyone.

BEHIND THE BOAT

What’s not to like about the Malibu 21 vRide? You get most of the great wake performance characteristics as other elite Malibu wake machines, but at a reduced cost. The wake is clean, with less lip than other Malibu wakeboard boats, but you’ll need the optional 500-pound ballast tank for advanced moves.
