Malibu Wakesetter VTX 2009

BOAT REVIEW

Malibu’s Wakesetter VTX is the right fit for buyers who want a compact rig that tucks into a standard garage and can be trailored by most V-6-powered vehicles. This 20-footer is small enough to satisfy most waterway restrictions, and the performance is all Wakesetter, with wakes that will please any level of wakeboarder. A Cut Diamond Hull is available at no extra charge so, multisport families will have a versatile wakeboard boat fit for skiing as well.

INSIDE THE BOAT

With seating for 10 friends, which is considerable for a ski boat this size, the Malibu Wakesetter VTX delivers serious comfort with a wraparound lounge built with above-average 5-inch bolsters. Drivers get treated, too, with an Italian Isotta wheel, LCD controls, billet aluminum throttle rig and a swivel seat with flip-up bolster.

BEHIND THE BOAT

For a 20-foot V-drive, the Malibu Wakesetter VTX’s wake performance is hard to beat. These user-friendly ramps have long transitions with a mellow lip that can be ridden aggressively, even by less-experienced riders. A big landing zone awaits your favorite moves.
