MasterCraft X-2 2009

BOAT REVIEW
Nicknamed the “X-Star’s little brother,” the MasterCraft X-2 carries the MasterCraft flagship’s DNA into a versatile 20-foot platform that will fit into most standard garages. This agile rig, which comes with a standard wake plate, is a great option for families in search of user-friendly wakes that can be tuned down for slalom skiing, or tweaked for surfing. With an 8-foot beam and pickle fork bow, the MasterCraft X-2 offers more room than most wakeboard boats in its class.

INSIDE THE BOAT
Anchored by the versatile VDIG (Video Digital Gauge) control module, which comes standard, the MasterCraft X-2 helm will spoil drivers with billet accents, a vinyl-wrapped wheel and outstanding ergonomics. The wraparound lounge is noteworthy, too, offering 76 cu. ft. of storage – impressive for a 20-footer.

BEHIND THE BOAT
You won’t believe this 20-foot wakeboard boat can produce the swells it does with just the stock ballast, but somehow it manages to carve a beautifully shaped wake with good size. For water-sports enthusiasts who enjoy a smooth open-water slalom run, the wake for skiing is fairly jolt-free.
