BOAT REVIEW
Completely new for 2009, the B52V Team Wide Body was built from scratch based on a laser scan of MB Sports’ benchmark F23 Tomcat hull. This core wakeboard boat is designed to offer the same ramp-sculpting Tomcat running surface, but with a traditional bow design for wakeboarders who prefer an old school look. Great surf wakes – on both sides – also are on tap, thanks to twin ballast tanks that can be filled independently to an impressive 1,800-lb. total.
INSIDE THE BOAT
“Wide Body” means a best-in-class beam dimension that translates into acres of room in the lounge and cockpit, which shines with billet aluminum accents. Storage is also noteworthy, with large hatch openings to accommodate oversized gear like wakesurf boards.
BEHIND THE BOAT
The first thing that caught our eye about the new wide-body hull is how impressive the wake size is with stock ballast and only three people on board. We can only imagine the size with the boat’s 16-person capacity. The wake is extremely solid with smooth ramps.
