BOAT REVIEW
For course-focused slalom devotes who can’t always find a driver of comparable skill, the AWSA- and ABC-approved Gekko GTO 22 offers superior tracking ability that can help a rookie throttle man pull more like seasoned pro. Bulit on Gekko’s premiere ski boat hull, which pulled the 2009 World Barefoot Championships, this model offers versatile wakes, eye-catching design — from the stealthy integrated platform to the sleek, aggressive bowline – and serious value, thanks to an MSRP that starts at less than $32,000.
IN THE BOAT
As a hard-core ski boat, the Gekko GTO 22 maintains a high level of interior convenience thanks to a well-designed layout. Like any proper swerve chariot, the cockpit treats drivers to thoughtful ergonomics and a sharp-polished steering wheel.
BEHIND THE BOAT
The Gekko will please beginning skiers just as much as high-end rippers. The wakes are tiny and soft from 15 off and into shortline. Skiers will have excellent course visibility behind the Gekko GTO 22 because there’s virtually no chine spray. The wake table is narrow and has good symmetry.
