Ski Boat Review
In the industry’s quest to build bigger and bigger wakes, one fact has been all too often overlooked: Not everyone is able to store these giant wakeboard boats. With this in mind, MB Sports created the F21 Tomcat, aimed at the serious wake rider who does not have room to store a larger wakeboard boat. With its standard collapsible tower, this wakeboarding boat fits easily into a garage with 7-foot ceilings. A slightly scaled-down version of its 23-foot counterpart, the MB Sports F21 Tomcat offers the agility of a 21-footer with the wake size usually found in a much larger wakeboard boat.
COMFORT
The first thing you notice with the F21 Tomcat, as with all MB boats, is the impressive fit and finish. It’s a solid ride, and passengers will be well aware of it when slicing through double-ups and boating in adverse conditions. We found the MB Sports F21 to be surprisingly roomy with seating for up to 14 people and ample storage conveniently placed throughout.
WAKE PERFORMANCE
Our test riders had nothing but accolades for the MB Sports F21 Tomcat’s ability to build large, user-friendly wakes. The quick-filling standard ballast system is more than enough to entertain advanced moves. The wakes were described as clean with a well-defined, easy-to-read peak. The transition was very smooth, allowing the rider to charge the wake without worrying about facing an abrupt kick.
STANDOUTS
1. Collapsible tower: Easy to break down, this folding tower allows you to garage this wakeboard boat under a 7-foot ceiling.
2. Clarion sound: This 600-watt sound system comes stock with six speakers and an added punch provided by a 10-inch sub.
3. Subfloor ballast baffles: Water sloshing around can negatively affect a boat’s drivability. MB Sports addressed this problem by developing a baffle system to keep water in place.
